I create works using the motif of the body mainly through lithographs and drawings. The theme of my research is to explore the potential of prints as works of art from a wide range of perspectives, including modern digital printing technology, bearing in mind the technical changes from the invention of lithography by Johann Alois Senefelder through to offset printing. I also study the nature of printmaking education in Japanese art universities as it developed out of the “creative print movement(Sosaku-hanga Undo)” and its philosophy in modern Japan. In my classes, we produce not only drawings and prints but also digital prints, book art, and so on.
