チョウブシンさん（大学院造形研究科博士後期課程造形芸術専攻環境形成領域2年）の展覧会のお知らせ。

チョウブシン（張武琛）は、観察、制作、パフォーマンスの三つの手法を用いて、複合メディアのアプローチで空間デザイン、テキスタイルデザイン、および伝統工芸デザインに取り組んでいる。デザイン学の研究に従事する傍ら、彼女はキュレーター、インスタレーションアーティスト、実験的アートショートフィルムアーティストとして活動している。

今回の展示作品「呼吸」は、チョウが長年取り組んできた「観察・制作・演技」というテーマに沿った初期作品であり、彼女の自然の生命力に対する個人的な感受を反映している。「呼吸」では、観察からデザインの実践へと進み、自然に潜む目に見えない要素や特性を捉え、それらを平面印刷によって具現化しようと試みている。もう一つの作品「紙人形」は、彼女が周囲の人々の観察に基づき、そこから投影されたものをテキスタイルのプリントデザインとして表現した作品である。

人間は自然や生命力について常に考えを巡らせており、その思索は未来へと続いていくでしょう。地球の真の主人である自然は、常に人類を観察し、導いてきた。自然の手に触れ、共に歩むことをどうすれば実感できるのか――これこそがチョウが探求し続けているデザインテーマの一つである。

Wuchen Zhang (張武琛) uses observation, creation, and performance as key approaches in her multimedia design practice, focusing on spatial, textile, and traditional craft design. Alongside her design research, she is active as a curator, installation artist, and experimental short film creator.

The exhibited work, “The Breath”, is an early series aligned with Wuchen Zhang’s ongoing theme of “observation, creation, and performance.” It reflects her personal sensitivity to the vitality of nature. In “The Breath”, she moves from observation to design practice, capturing nature’s invisible elements and qualities and expressing them through printmaking. Another work, “Paper Doll”, stems from her observations of people around her, translating these impressions into textile pattern designs.

Humanity’s reflections on nature and life’s vitality are timeless and will continue into the future. As the true steward of our planet, nature has always observed and guided us. How can we truly feel nature’s presence and walk in harmony with it? This question is one of the core themes Wuchen Zhang seeks to explore through her design work.
