武蔵野美術大学 造形学部彫刻学科卒業（学士）

研究テーマ

彫刻の可能性と不可能性。

'94年文化庁芸術家在外研修員として渡米。'96年五島記念文化賞美術新人賞受賞による海外研修として、中国、チベット、ネパールほかに滞在。
ヒルサイドフォーラム、ギャラリーαＭ、コバヤシ画廊、日本橋高島屋美術画廊Ｘ、静岡市美術館、アイショウミウラアーツ、MA2ギャラリーなどで個展を開催。'98年「VOCA '98」上野の森美術館、「アート／生態系」宇都宮美術館、'00年「プラスチックの時代」埼玉県立近代美術館、'01年「DOMANI・明日展2001」安田火災東郷青児美術館、「第19回現代日本彫刻展」宇部市野外彫刻美術館、'03年「越後妻有アートトリエンナーレ2003」、'04年「FLAG SHIP 2004」東京国際フォーラムエキジビションスペース、'07・'08・'10年「椿会展 Trans-Figurative」資生堂ギャラリー、'08−'09年「公開制作44／1000層」府中市美術館、'11年「As Long As Rainbow Lasts」SOKA Art Center（台北）、「うつしみ」MA2ギャラリー、'12年「Melting Zone」アートコートギャラリー、「The Power of Japanese Contemporary Sculpture」AKI gallery（台北）、「色めく彫刻」群馬県立館林美術館などに出品。

The work I produce develops out of my thinking about the weakness of sculpture.
The weakness of sculpture is profoundly related to the ambiguous nature of things as both real and fake. Specifically, by incorporating ready-made products and everyday items in the creation of works, and by contemplating sculptural methods of reproduction, I address the hollow spaces inside things in my works, through which I hope to make tangible the fragile existence of things that are buried in the world of the everyday.
When sculpture, sharing the same space that we do, is able to exist as a kind of other that society cannot immediately grasp, then the weakness of sculpture is sure to relate directly to the human spirit.
