研究テーマ

絵画。

'86年より作品を発表。当初から一貫して具体的なものを題材に作品を制作。'96年文化庁芸術家在外研修員としてバンコクに滞在。'02年『小林孝亘作品集−ひかりのあるところへ』（日本経済新聞社）刊行。
展覧会：'00年「近作展　23」国立国際美術館（大阪）、'04年「終わらない夏」目黒区美術館、'06年「ものとこころ」西村画廊（東京）などの個展のほか、'01年「かたちをもとめて」釜山市立美術館（韓国）、'02年「美術の力−時代を拓く7作家−」兵庫県立美術館、'03年「MOTアニュアル2003　おだやかな日々」東京都現代美術館、'04年「見るための冒険」広島市現代美術館、'06年「愉しき家」愛知県美術館、'07年「開館記念〈生きる〉展 現代作家9人のリアリティ」横須賀美術館（神奈川）、'09年「眼を閉じて−“見ること”の現在」茨城県立近代美術館、'10年「絵画の庭−ゼロ年代日本の地平から」国立国際美術館などに参加。

I began exhibiting my work in 1986. Through my painting I seek to take hints from concrete, visible forms in expressing fundamental sensations that cannot be seen. In 1996–1997 I lived in Bangkok as a participant in the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists provided by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. In 2002 I published Hikari no aru tokoro e: Kobayashi Takanobu sakuhinshu [Toward a Place with Light]. I have held numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Japan and overseas, and my works are in the collections of museums including the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo; the National Museum of Art, Osaka; the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art; the Ohara Museum of Art; and the Takamatsu City Museum of Art.
