研究テーマ

絵画を中心とした美術表現の研究

色彩の重なりと揺らぎによって、独自の絵画空間をいかに創出するかをを考察している。ストライプという普遍的なモチーフを用いながら、視覚を中心とした鑑賞者の身体性と絵画の構造を同時に探求している。現在は、均一なフラットさと、素材の特質が表出する不均一な肌合い（ムラ）の両立をテーマに、新たな造形言語を模索している。
主な個展に「スカートと風景」丸亀市猪熊弦一郎現代美術館（香川、2022）・東京オペラシティアートギャラリー（東京、2023）、「Singular Pluralities」 HAGIWARA PROJECTS（東京、2025）等。主なグループ展に「AWT FOCUS:リアルとは？curated by アダム・シムジック」 ⼤倉集古館、 東京、2025）、「⽇本現代美術私観：⾼橋⿓太郎コレクション」 東京都現代美術館（東京、2024）、「絵画の現在」 府中市美術館（東京、2018）、｢絵画の在りか」 東京オペラシティアートギャラリー（東京、2014）等。

Shunsuke Imai explores the creation of unique pictorial spaces through the interplay and fluctuation of colors. Utilizing the universal motif of stripes, his work simultaneously investigates the inherent structure of painting and the physicality of the viewer, centered on the act of seeing. Currently, his focus is on developing a new formal language that reconciles uniform flatness with the uneven textures (mura) that arise from the nature of the materials themselves.
